adaptasia LP

Early in 2021, I met with Iowa musician, Zap Tura, to discuss releasing their new album, Adaptasia, via my music label, Warm Gospel. They were in the process of finishing up the recording and engineering with Phil Young of the Sonic Factory Studios in Des Moines, IA.

We settled on pushing ourselves with this release to do a full 200 copies, professionally pressed through Gotta Groove Records. We were determined to make a full package of the release, using a consistent visual aesthetic to release the album singles, the music video, the record itself, and the live show.

The maximalist color and detail of the artwork from my Piece exhibit proved to be a fit for the album’s psychedelic pop sound. I created the artwork to fit the full, folded 12” record jacket and adapted that artwork for the 7” lathe-cut single, album promotional materials, and the pressed records themselves.
